Swim Academy Liverpool follows the Amateur Swimming Association’s (ASA) Learn to Swim framework. Our fully inclusive programme caters for all levels of ability, from non-swimmer to Olympian.

Swim Academy Programme

Swim Academy Liverpool follows the Amateur Swimming Association’s (ASA) Learn to Swim framework and follows the guidance and expected standards set out by the ASA. The children are taught by ASA qualified instructors and follow the ASA awards scheme.

The Swim Academy Liverpool is structured into five categories and swimmers will progress to the next group when all competencies have been satisfied according to the ASA expected standards. We will continuously assess ability, speed and progression, which will vary depending on the individual. You will be notified of progression to the next group by the swimming instructor.

Turtles

TurtlesNon-swimmers - ASA Duckling 1,2,3 and stage 1 and 2

Perfect for those starting their swimming journey. Focuses on water confidence and is directly linked to the ASA foundation stage.

Seahorses

SeahorsesBeginners/Improvers - ASA stage 3 and 4

At the end of this stage your child will be able to enter the water safely and swim 10-15 metres on their front and back.

Catfish

CatfishImprovers/Advanced 1&2 - ASA stage 5 and 6

At the end of this stage your child will be able to perform a horizontal stationary scull on their back, swim 10 metres with clothes on and more.

Dolphins

DolphinsAdvanced + - ASA stage 7

At the end of this stage your child will be able to swim all 4 strokes for a minimum of 25 metres and perform a sitting dive.

Sharks

SharksSkill specific - ASA stage 8,9 and 10

Skill Specific: For children who have completed stage 7 and are now ready to progress to specific aquatic disciplines.

Progress report

You can request a progress report at any time by completing a progress report form at the reception. A member of our team will aim to contact you within 7 days. Coming soon you will be able to track your child’s progress through our internet home portal by simply using your email address.

Prices and booking

Courses run for 10 weeks and you can pay by Direct Debit or pay up front in full. Both options cover one lesson per week per child. Lessons last for 30 minutes.

Direct Debit

Direct Debit fees are £18.00 per month (£13.00 concessions) and are calculated by the number of swimming lessons over a 12 month period. This consists of 52 weeks, minus a 2 week break over Christmas and any relevant bank holidays. Centre variations may apply to prices.

Pay up front

A 10 week block costs £45 or £30 concessionary rate. Centre variations may apply to prices.

You can also submit an enquiry online at your chosen centre, and a member of staff will get back to you.
